Charity: Bags Without Barriers (BWB)

 

Important: BWB is on a mission to supply 500 fully stocked bags to high school aged students RIGHT NOW. Every participating player must make a donation to the charity. Any size donation will be acceptable. 100% of your donation will go directly to those that need your help. Each fully stocked bag costs roughly $10.00. Every dollar counts!

2025 Charity Cup – Game Rules & Event Schedule

Date: Sunday, September 7, 2025
Teams:

  • Lancers (Away Team) – Grey Uniforms, Locker Room 4

  • Nature Boys (Home Team) – Black Uniforms, Locker Room 2

Schedule of Events

  • 4:00 PM or later – Player Arrival / Locker Room Access

  • 5:15 PM – Players on ice (helmets off) for center ice group photo with event photographer

  • 5:20 PM – Warm-up (5 minutes running time)

  • 5:25–5:30 PM – Puck Drop

Game Format

  • Three (3) periods of 15 minutes stop time

  • Red Line Icing

  • 3-minute intermission between periods (no ice cut)

  • Overtime/Shootout:

    • If tied after regulation, captains select 3 shooters each.

    • If still tied, every rostered player must shoot before anyone takes a second attempt.

  • Winning Team: Captain keeps the Charity Cup Trophy for one year, until the 2026 Charity Cup.

Rules & Conduct

  • Referee: Brody (from Mini’s college team) – only one official.

    • Absolutely no disrespect toward the referee.

    • Both teams must accept missed calls with good spirit.

  • Scoreboard Operators: Captains from Mini’s HS team.

    • Zero communication allowed between players and operators, especially during penalties.

Penalties

  • Minor: 2 minutes

  • Major: 5 minutes + automatic ejection

  • Zero tolerance for:

    • Fighting

    • Intent to injure

    • Unsportsmanlike conduct

  • No body checking (family-friendly event).

  • Rough play = immediate ejection.

Requirements

  • All players must:

    • Submit a signed waiver prior to game day.

    • Make their charitable donation before the event (see donation link).

    • Wear full protective equipment (half shields permitted).

Final Notes

  • This is a charity event: play hard, but keep it fun, safe, and respectful.

  • Nature Boys will sit on the home bench - DO NOT GO THROUGH THE DOUBLE DOORS BEHIND THE BENCH AT ANY TIME - this leads to the SHU Varsity lockers which is strictly off limits!

  • We expect a fast-paced, competitive, but clean game.

  • Please take care of the arena and keep your locker rooms clean

  • If the scoreboard is not operational, well, we’ll “cross that bridge when we come to it.”

  • Most importantly: Let’s make this a great night for everyone involved.
